SAID project will contribute to expand the use of the most recent technical solutions with an innovation & demonstration work plan based on the idea of a platform for integrated management of water infrastructures. This approach will increase the business opportunities of the SMEs and other partners participating in SAID project, which can exploit the DSSs validated in the project as well as the use of the platform to facilitate the adaptation of their DSSs to other regions.
Aspects of innovation
University of Málaga, Softcrits and Abeinsa will provid joint results in river basin simulation and dam management obtained in two collaborative projects: a) the strategic research consortium TecoAgua leaded by two companies of Abengoa group (Befesa Agua, now part of Abeinsa, and Abengoa Water) and founded by the Spanish government (CENIT programme) and the European Commission (ERDF funds); and b) the collaboration between Softcrits, University of Málaga and UTE-Hidrosur (a cluster of companies leaded by Abeinsa to implement new tools for Agencia Andaluza del Agua).
Quality of water
The monitoring programmes will need to take account of variability in time and space within a water body. Sufficient samples should be taken and analysed to adequately characterise such variability and to generate meaningful results with proper confidence. In addition to sensor technology, the use of numerical models with a sufficient level of confidence and precision for designing the monitoring programmes can also be helpful.
Ubiwhere will extend and adapt the current developments of a DSS for energy management. The system will be fully compliant with OpenGeoSpatial, GMES and GOOS/GEOSS initiative. It consists of a distributed big data analysis system, which processes real-time events originated from sensors deployed across an IP network. These events are firstly communicated to a REST API, which acts as a logical entry-point to the system.
Monitoring and Communications
In this project, Lesswire will introduce wireless gateways for the smart integration of heterogeneous sensor/actuator networks. These gateways should have local (distributed) intelligence for pre-processing of the sensor data and possibly autonomous actuator control. Within this project we intend to evaluate a multi-interface communication gateway, which implements on the sensor/actuator side various wireless technologies for process automation.
Integration of DSSs
Softcrits will develop and provide a platform (or a framework) aimed at the integration of existing DSSs, which will be done following a component-based approach. With this framework, High-level DSSs will enable water management resources decision makers to simulate and analyse the impact of their decisions in complex domains that cross the boundaries of isolated domain-specific DSSs.
